HARARE – The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has appealed to members of the public for information that may lead to the location of Godfrey Karemba, popularly known as Madzibaba “Veshanduko”, in connection with allegations of undermining police authority.
In a statement, the police said Karemba is being sought to assist with investigations into allegations relating to conduct that is said to have undermined the authority of the Zimbabwe Republic Police. Authorities have urged anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to report to the nearest police station or contact the police through established communication channels.
The police did not immediately provide detailed information regarding the circumstances surrounding the allegations but indicated that investigations are ongoing.
The appeal has attracted attention on social media, where the matter has generated widespread discussion. However, the Zimbabwe Republic Police has urged the public to rely on official information and to cooperate with law enforcement where necessary.
Legal experts note that when police issue an appeal for information, it forms part of an investigation and should not be interpreted as proof of guilt. Individuals who are sought by law enforcement remain entitled to all the protections afforded under Zimbabwean law, including the presumption of innocence.
At the time of publication, Madzibaba Veshanduko had not publicly responded to the allegations or the police appeal.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police has encouraged anyone with credible information that could assist the investigation to come forward through official channels.
The Chiredzi Report will continue to monitor the matter and provide verified updates as more information becomes available from the police or the courts.
Godfrey Karemba, also known as Madzibaba “Veshanduko”, is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty by a competent court of law.
